Location: Stamfordham, Northumberland 

At Gilchesters we grow and mill our heritage grains for a full flavoured flour and our choice of heritage wheat grains, spelt and rye ensures we deliver strong flours with robust baking characteristics, yet versatile enough for finer pastries and cakes. Selected over the last 17 years they are the result of painstaking research into organic crop husbandry on our farm, ensuring we work with nature to combine a balance between farming and wildlife conservation. Our rotation of crops and animals on each field is designed to ensure the soils are never depleted of naturally occurring minerals and nutrients required for our grains each year at harvest time.
